About

Kristin Buehler approaches spiritual direction as a ministry of holy hospitality. The hospitality that she offers is not food or drink, but a compassionate heart, attentive listening and a sacred space where you are free to be yourself. Join the spiritual journey and nurture what is Still Sacred to you.

Kristin Buehler, spiritual directoram a college graduate who utilized my degree in a professional, secular career for many years, but I felt nudged to use my gifts and talents to serve my faith community and pursue a deeper relationship with God. On that journey, I discovered a profound sense of joy and gratitude when people would share their faith stories with me. Now, I am a graduate of Spiritual Ministries Institute’s 3-year HeartPaths training program in the Art of Spiritual Direction. In addition, I have a Certificate in Contemplative Prayer and Spiritual Leadership, have completed a nine month study of the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola, am a retreat leader, small group facilitator, group speaker, and active in various ministries in my faith community.  I am also a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified Practitioner.

I am an active participant in my Catholic faith community and have explored various faith traditions. While my viewpoint is predominantly Christian, I remain open to learning and seeking the truth brought forth by various faiths traditions. I strive to expand my knowledge on diverse subjects through reading, seminars and retreats. I am a spiritual seeker, still journeying myself therefore I have a spiritual director with whom I meet with regularly.

I approach spiritual direction as a ministry of holy hospitality. The hospitality that I offer is not food or drink, but I offer to you a compassionate heart, attentive listening and a sacred space where you are free to be yourself. It is a privilege to accompany people as they journey towards deeper spirituality. The road traveled is not always smooth, but I strive to offer a safe and inviting place where your fears, burdens, blessings and desires are allowed to be spoken freely. This ministry is based on respect, honesty and confidentiality. As we travel together, I will listen deeply to you, perhaps clarifying and unpacking your sacred story with gentle and patient guidance. I will be open, attentive and non-judgmental.

To be clear, spiritual direction is not a form of counseling such as: pastoral counseling, psychotherapy or analysis, financial counseling or addiction therapy and should not be a substitute for these services.

If this is an area of your life that you would like to explore with me, then I would be honored to companion you on that journey. I work with people of many ages, faiths and stages of discernment.  Spiritual Direction sessions can take place locally in Asheville, NC or remotely via phone or other form of technology as agreed upon.
