Blogging about life on a homestead with authenticity, gratitude & humor

I made an intentional move from the big city of Dallas, TX to the mountains of Western North Carolina in 2017.  I invite you to join me as I make my way through uncharted territory.  Do I have what it takes?  Is it a mistake to leave everything and everyone that I know behind? Am I just crazy? You can read more about the first years at Why Asheville.

After a year of searching, my husband and I found our home in Madison County.  Every where we searched was beautiful, but our hearts kept calling us to Marshall, NC.  We’ve expanded our family to include Milo, a hound dog rescue, and a flock of chickens.  The chores are never ending on the homestead, but the air is fresh and the land is magical.

I am a spiritual seeker, always searching for the sacred in all life has to offer.  Whether that’s while mucking the chicken coop or meditating in the garden.  I also like to have a good laugh – even if I’m just laughing at myself.  Life is sweet here in the mountains – won’t you join me on the journey as I seek to discover what is still sacred.
